Heritage Museum Opens April 8th

In 2020 the nation celebrated the centennial of the 19th Amendment giving women the right to vote.  The Transylvania Heritage Museum was set to launch the exhibit Celebrating Women in History but due to COVID, was unable to open as planned. The exhibit was dismantled and packed away but we are pleased to announce it has been reinstalled and will open to the public on April 8th.

The exhibit is a timeline of Women's history, showcasing the contributions women have made not only nationally but locally. Along with Susan B. Anthony and Amelia Earhart, visitors will learn about Transylvania's own Elizabeth Silversteen and Sadie North. Make plans to visit and learn more about these remarkable women.

The Transylvania Heritage Museum is located at 189 West Main Street in Brevard. Hours of operation are Thursday through Saturday, from noon until 4:00 pm. For more information, contact us at (828) 884-2347 or curator@transylvaniaheritage.org.
