"The First Transylvanians: Native Americans, What the Old Stories and Archeology Tell Us" is th presesntation for March.
G. Keith Parker, local historian and writer will tell about some of the old Cherokee storeis in this area. Scott Ashcraft, archeologist wit the US Forest Service, will tell and show pictures of much of Transylvania archeological history, both very old and most recent. Although the main emphasis will be on pre-recorded history (Native American), he will include some digs in the historical European history. You are invited to bring along a bag lunch to enjoy during the presentation. Refreshments are provided by the Friends of the Library and include cookies brought by volunteers and coffee from Quotations Coffee Cafe.

This long-running monthly program series features a wide variety of speakers, performers and artists on an array of topics. During the Sesquicentennial year, each program in the series will focus on some aspect of the arts, history or culture of Transylvania County. Contact the Library for individual program listings. All programs are held in the Rogow Room of the Transylvania County Library, 212 South Gaston Street, Brevard.
