364 E Main Street Brevard NC The Silvermont House Museum, a Colonial Revival landmarknear downtown Brevard, was the longtime residence of the family of Joseph Sliversteen, a leading 20th century Transylvania County industrialist. The families history, and impact on the county, is revealed through the detailed recreation of living spaces, bedrooms, personal offices and a memorabilia room on mansion’s the second floor. The mansion is owned by Transylvania County and the Second Floor Museum is operated by the Transylvania Heritage Museum.
Admission is free but the second floor is not ADA accessible.
