Sesquicentennial Opening Ceremony

The Opening Ceremony of Transylvania County’s Sesquicentennial will take place in the Transylvania County Courthouse at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, February 15, 2011.  The ceremony will feature our national, state and local elected leaders.  In addition to the reading of the 1861 act establishing Transylvania County, there will be a history exhibit and multimedia presentation which will preview highlights of the year-long celebration. At the conclusion, church bells will ring across the county. 
Members of the public will be able to access the ceremony in four different ways:
 - In person, at the Courthouse
 - Over the radio, on WSQL-AM 1240
 - Via video simulcast, at the Brevard High School and Rosman High School media centers,
    and
 - Via live internet stream, at http://www.ustream.tv/channel/tcschools
Everyone is encouraged to take part in this very important evening in the life of our County, either in person or by using the media alternatives.
