The Making and Breaking of a Folk Hero

In conjunction with the current exhibit, Roads, Rails & Trails, the Museum is proud to have a feature speaker, Michael Keaton, provide a program at the Transylvania County Library Rogow Room on Saturday, October 20 at 1 pm. Michael, a direct descendant of the area's most famous outlaw and folk hero, Lewis Redmond, is a native of Seneca, SC, and can trace his ancestry in the area to the 1700s. He holds an AS degree in Management from Tri-County Tech, a BS in Business Administration and a BA in History and an MA in History from Clemson University. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Policy Studies at Clemson University. Michael has made appearances on the History Channel (Hillbilly: The Real Story) and on the Documentary Channel and PBS (The Outlaw Lewis Redmond).
