Commemorative Wall Hanging Raffle - July 9, 2011

The Chestnut Mountain Quilters is a small group of ladies with very big hearts. This group creates a hand-crafted quilt that is then sold to raise money for competitive scholarships awarded to deserving residents of their community (See Off Mountain area).

This year, they created this striking, hand-crafted, 54" x 67" masterpiece to celebrate and commemorate Transylvania County’s Sesquicentennial Celebration. Designed as a wall hanging that will proclaim the new owner’s pride in the county’s history, it is currently displayed outside the North Carolina Room on the 2nd floor of the Transylvania County Library. It will proclaim the new owner’s pride in the county and its rich history.

It will be raffled off on July 9, 2011 at See Off Mountain’s Community Day celebration. A maximum of 30 raffle tickets will be sold for $50 each. Recognition of the winning organization or individual will be included in a newspaper article covering the quilt in mid-July. A poster will also be displayed at our community day celebration listing all those who bought tickets.

For more information or to buy a raffle ticket, please contact Claire Cope at 885-2956 or Doug Poad at 883-5673.

Wouldn't it look wonderful on YOUR wall!
